Age:
A foster/adoptive couple must be at least 21 years of age to become a licensed family.
Marriage Status:
Foster/adoptive parents must be a legally married husband and wife and have been married for at least one year prior to fostering/adopting.
Divorce:
Permitted.
Children in Family:
Foster families may not have more than six children living in their home including the ones they are fostering.
Criminal History:
All criminal history is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Medical History:
All medical conditions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Applicants with a current diagnosis of a communicable or life-threatening disease or other condition that impairs their ability to parent and/or hinder the quality of life of a child are ineligible.
